Why does any webmaster
make an "about" section? Honestly, the only people who will ever read it
will be those who already know you (and are collecting data to incriminate
you with) or those who are extremely bored. Either way its kinda pointless
don't ya think? Perhaps its my hope that someone famous will see this section
and call me, maybe it's a way to inflate my lacking ego, or maybe its just
another way to waste my precious time. Any ways, below you will find info about
me, CpuJunky. Why? I don't know.
CpuJunky's Personal F.A.Q
So what is your real name?
Dirk Diggler
How old are you?
24. I'm old enough to drink, smoke, drive, and vote....although I tend to drink more than I vote ;) I still want to party like I did as a college
freshman, but I should be focusing on my career. At least next year I get
a discount on my car insurance.
Where do you live?
A small town in Ohio. I can't complain too much,
I've lived here a long time and have always found something to do.
I live close to Dayton and so there is usually something going on down
there. I might be moving soon though....
Ok Mr. "CpuJunky", what kind of computer do you
use?
I'm long overdue for a new machine, but this one is tried
and true. Here is a brief description:
A PC-65USB Lian-Li aluminum case with front USB ports, 4 external
5.25" bays and 7 internal 3.5" bays (aluminum is lighter and dissipates
heat faster than traditional steel frames). It came from the factory with a
rectangle cut in the side and an acrylic window installed. Much sharper and more
durable than the hand-done jobs. I also installed a black light ( cold cathode
tube) on
the inside of the case. I use white, rounded, IDE cables which glow really nice
with the light on. I'm working on a lot more case mods as I get the time.
AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (1600mhz) CPU overclocked to about
2200+ (1704mhz). Settings are 1.85vcore, 142mhz X 12. I use a pure copper heat
sink
and ball bearing fan with Arctic Silver 3 thermal grease.
ABIT KG7-Raid. 6 PCI, 1 AGP, 4 DDR slots, 4 IDE ports (2 can be used for Raid 0/1/0+1).
IR and additional USB headers, along with I²C bus options and tons
more features. No gay AMR/CNR slots or onboard audio here! Thank god!
GeForce 3 w/TV-Out, overclocked to 255/245.
Hercules Game Theater XP Sound Card (Dolby Decoder)
with external input/output rack.
1GB PC2100 DDR Cas2 Memory.
A 40GB 7200rpm IBM Deskstar 60GXP hard drives and a 160GB
Maxtor. I used to have a Raid 0 setup with other drives, but after extensive benchmarks I found
it to be less than spectacular. It seemed to improve write speeds but degraded
read speeds.
Lite-On DVD+/-RW.
Pioneer 16x DVD-115 DVD-Rom
Floppy (remember those?)
3Com 100baseT NIC (905C).
Software wise, I am using Windows XP Professional SP2 among
other things. XP is probably the best OS Microsoft has ever made. It's more
stable and faster than any previous MS OS. MS
still included a bunch of integrated shit which can get REAL annoying, but
luckily the OS is completely customizable. With a few changes the OS can be
tamed to your liking.
So do you have a job and/or are you in college?
Well, I've had just about every job you can imagine. From
fast food to sales, US Census to PC Technician. I'm currently working as a
Retail Sales Manager while slowly
moving toward my CEG degree. I've taken classes at
several colleges, but I screwed myself by partying
the first 2 years. Now I'm trying to make up for it.
You drive a sweet car right?
I used to drive a 1992 Dodge Dakota, but that was totaled thanks to some ass monkey in a Toyota Camry. Then I
had a 1995 Dodge Caravan but, you guessed it, I totaled that car too. So now I'm
driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota, my pride and joy. If I total that, I'm gonna be
pissed.
What are you favorite foods/drinks/movies/actors/etc.
If you seriously want to know that, you seriously have
problems.
What types of people do you hate? Please vent
your frustrations....
I started to answer this question and realized that there were way too many
things to list here, so I ended up making a whole new
section just to answer this question ;) Check it out from the menu bar at
the left.
Why did you make this web site?
I have this diluted vision that having my own web
page gives me a creative outlet and power in which I'll somehow influence someone
else in the world. Funny isn't it?
What do you do in your spare time?
When I'm not at my job or working on computers, I spend
most of my time bar hopping with friends. Usually we end up betting money on
darts, air hockey, chicks, hell....I'd bet money on betting money if the odds
are good. I play guitar and listen to music, but who gives a crap.
What kind of guitars and equipment do you have?
I primarily use my American Fender Fat Stratocaster (Customized
with Seymour
Duncan pickups), run it through my Digitech RP300 valve system, and then hook it directly into my
PC sound
rack (Hercules GT XP). I use a bunch of different software programs for
multi-track editing, drum machines, and compilation. I also have a Gibson
acoustic with Grover lock nuts which I play when I'm in the acoustic mood ;) I'd say
that I'm pretty good, but I'm always working to get better. I can learn to play almost anything with enough time and effort, but I
definitely have a lot to work on. Someday I want to be able to pick up any guitar and pump out an amazing solo. That'd be sweet.
Is there anything else we should care about?
If you've read this page all the way to this point, you
need to get out more.
