Download Duke Beta:Not known to
many people, 3D Realms started the Duke Nukem 3d project just after the
release of Duke Nukem 2. As with most games under-development, 3D Realms
released a beta version for testing. On Duke's anniversary, 3D Realms decided
to give Duke fans an opportunity to try the Beta Version of Duke Nukem
3d. 3D Realms will give no support for this version, but its worth downloading
to see how far Duke has come since his 3D beta introduction. Several weapons,
items, and enemies are different so its worth a look.

Maps: If you
don't what a user map is or how to run one, go into "setup.exe" in the
duke directory. On the first screen you will see a section called user
maps. This allows you to play Duke Nukem 3d levels that are not already
a part of Duke. They may be elaborate levels with unseen graphics and sounds,
or simple levels from a kid named Billy. Just push enter on the user maps
selection in Duke setup, select one (it must be in your duke3d directory),
select save, and play Duke. This level will be loaded automatically when
Duke loads. The advantages of playing user maps are that levels may be
based on movies or for dukematches, new ideas or just crazy. Here is my
collection. Click the link below and then save as, or hold shift and click
it. You will then need to unzip the file with any unzipping program (winzip,pkunzip,etc.).
Remember to put the file into your Duke directory and then run setup. Unlike
some other sites, we only show the best Duke maps available for you to
download.

popular level to play on Kali. There are plenty of versions out, but WW4a
seems to be the most played. Tons of secrets (try ducking into the walls)
and enough ammo to start a war, hence the name.. |

second most played on Kali. As like World War, there are tons of versions
out. This seems to be the most played. It is a good idea to figure out
where all the secrets are before you play this online. Plenty of places
to hide and tons of ammo. |

a detailed mansion. Many rooms. Showers, security, basements, etc. Many
different areas to fight, each with a different strategy due to the surroundings.

those levels where the average scores are in the triple digits. There is
no armor but there is an abundance of RPGs. Only Atomic Health will help
you here. There is a center room with steps and several paths that go around. |

with the same principle as "Allrpgs". Plently of ammo but no armor. Medipacks
and steroids are your only extra items to use, but there are plenly of
weapons.All trails are inter-connected and the center contains all the

| Anslemx.zip = If you haven't
got this level you don't know the power of Duke's "Build" engine. All those
Quake players always saying how the Quake graphics engine is superior.
Try this level. Some dukematchers have been killed because they were looking
at the architecture of this level. |

| 8-ball.zip = You become a very
small duke in this map. You are placed in the center of a pool table to
battle and survive. Try jumping down into the pockets, and exploring! Get
the jetpack and fly over to the desk to get some goodies. Good for an unusual
type of dukematch. |

| Pntball.zip = Paintball is
a perfect level for team dukematches. On each side is a color. In the middle
is a maze of fire, buildings, secrets, etc. Meet at your side, then go
out into the battle field to kick the other side's ass! |

| D3darena.zip = A circular
level that has a spinning staircase type deal on the walls. There are several
ways to enter the sides from the floor level and then work your way up.
Plenty of ammo, good hiding places, and a good amount of health. Not many
secrets so what you see is what you get. Close to being a Top Five Kali
map. |

| Gauntlet.zip = This is just
one version of this popular level. Its main feature is the trench in the
middle where most of the weapons and health are. When you run through the
trench you are open to fire, hence the name "Gauntlet". A good level with
several sniper spots and a few secrets. When in the trench, keep running
and you'll go through the wall to reveal a secret. Also close to being
a Top Five Kali map. |

| Towers.zip = I circular level
with a tower in the center. An elevator is used to go up into the tower
and then several bridges extend outward to the side walls. A pretty small
map, but enough ammo to get you going. There is several atomic healths,
but you must jump from the tower onto a suspended platform to get them.
This leaves you open to be fired upon from the ground. |

| Cowboy.zip = Yee-haw! You are
placed in the center of a small western city, complete with a Saloon, a
firing range, a hotel, etc. Plenty of health, but not much ammo for the
larger weapons, so you'll be limited to mostly the Chaingun and Shotgun. |

| Army.zip = This level has little
to no health and very few weapons and ammo. Several sniper spots, walls,
and trenches are all that separate you from your deadly enemy. This map
really tests your skills to play duke since you must manage your ammo and
health. There is a Medi-Pack in one of the trenches, but you'll have to
fight for it. Its somewhat like an Army training camp, so get ready to
be tested soldier. |

| Stoned.zip = I am not sure what
being Stoned has to do with this, but never-the-less this is a great map.
If you like "L.A. Rumble", you'll like this. You can fight on the streets
or fly around with the Jetpack. I suggest the latter, but you can just
as easily get around by using the elevators and teleports. This is a rather
large map, so I suggest you play with at least 3 people. Those who have
mastered the Jetpack and Shotgun combo will have a field day with this,
however an RPG carring duke is just as deadly inside the buildings. |

| Lvl7.map = As like Army.map, this
level test your true ability. No armor and scarce health forces you to
stand ground and fight. Most matches here come down to circle strafing
and Shotgun shooting. I play it a lot because it gives me practice tracking
the enemy while shooting the Shotgun. It may not be the most exciting map,
but it sure tests your nerves. |
