I
had a 3 day weekend so I figured I'd update the site for a change. I
added a ton of new SNES roms, including a working copy of Street
Fighter Alpha 2. Thanks to "SONNYC88" for finding it!! I've been
getting a lot of good feedback about the site, and surprisingly a lot
of people commenting on the "Hate List". Guess I'll have to update that
too sometime. Thanks for everyone's support. lataz
FRIDAY,
AUGUST 1st 2003
You
may have recently noticed that my page was down for almost a month. I'm
sure some of you were crying, "Oh god, the only decent emulation site
has been shut down. Oh god, what ever will I do without my sexy
junky?!" Well boo boo, I'm back baby, and better than ever. The company
that I was previously hosted through was bought out, so I was finally
forced to go looking for a new hosting company. It took awhile, but I
eventually found a much improved server for my page and more than
quadrupled my bandwidth allowance. Those pesky 408 timeout errors
should no longer be a problem, woohoo!! Thanks to a few generous
donations and a bunch of motivational e-mails, switching everything
over wasn't too much of a hassle. Also, the month of August marks this
site's 2 year anniversary. It's amazing how fast those 2 years went by,
and how so much has changed since then....well...maybe not.
In
other news, I totaled yet another Dodge vehicle. Yeah, that's right,
I'm 2 for 2. My first car was a 92' Dodge Dakota that my dad handed
down to me. A few years later some moron in a Camry pulled out in front
of me and that was that. Then I was handed down my mom's 95' Grand
Caravan which, just this passed month, I totaled by sliding sideways
into a pole. Had I been driving a 4x4 vehicle, I probably would have
rolled it. So naturally I'm looking into buying a new Dodge Dakota 4x4.
If anything, I've learned that Dodge vehicles are pretty safe. I'm
still alive right? :) I also got a new job, nothing spectacular, but it
pays the bills for now and blah blah, I'm tired of typing. Click my AD
banner bastards. lataz

Apparently
some of you ass monkeys don't listen. If you request a ROM and don't
specify what console it is for, I'll just delete your email. If you
request a Japanese game, I'll just delete your email. If you request a
game that's already on my freakin page, I'll just delete your email. If
you think that one of my ROMs doesn't work, make
sure by trying it with another emulator. If it still doesn't work, let
me know and I'll check it out. It's a rough life, I know. Oh yeah,
also, read my freakin "What's Emulation" section before you send me
some asinine email about how you can't play games. I've seen monkey's
smarter than some of you people, hence ass monkeys. Of course those of
you who send me props on the page or volunteer to help me out, I do
appreciate it!
I
updated my about section and listed the new ROMs above, but that's
about it. I've been busy at work and fixing PCs lately, so I haven't
had much time to mess with the page. I still get all your emails though
and will fill your requests. CpuJunky isn't goin anywhere, so no worry.

TUESDAY,
MAY 13th 2003
Yesterday,
CpuJunky.com surpassed 100,000
unique hits!! For a simple personal home page that's a year and a half
old and run by one guy, that's pretty impressive. I've received
hundreds of visitor emails since the birth of CpuJunky.com, and I've
met a lot of interesting people. It's definitely nice to have a page to
vent frustrations and speak your mind for thousands of people to read.
You get that false sense of fame and popularity :) This site is quickly
becoming more popular than my previous web sites were and I hope to
continue to grow. Thanks to all you ass monkeys for
making CpuJunky.com what it is today.
Back
to the real stuff....I added a few NES and SNES roms which are listed
above as usual now. I'm working as fast as I can to fill all your
requests, but some of the roms are very hard to find. Some games, like
Street Fighter Alpha 2, require you to use these stupid graphic pack
add-ons to work, ugh. It's such a hassle. Anyways, I'm going to be
adding a message board to CpuJunky.com soon. It'll be a place for you
guys to freely discuss emulation, roms, and all things CpuJunky. It
should be added with the next update. That's all for now, lataz!

Well
I had a minor computer disaster this weekend. A few days ago my piece
of shit IBM hard drive went out on me. I always laughed at people whose
computer "crashed," so I guess it was poetic justice. The damn thing
had been making the infamous clicking sounds for some time now, but I
was hoping it'd go away. Yeah right. It was a physical malfunction,
sounded like the drive head was sticking, so there was no software fix
for this one. Thankfully I had most of my important data backed up, but
nevertheless I did lose some things....like all the e-mails you ass
monkeys had sent from the past few weeks. I guess I don't consider
those "important" :) The drive was still under warranty so I sent it
out to Hitachi (they bought IBM storage) and got a loaner drive from a
friend. I swear, I've owned a dozen or so hard drives in my day, from
Maxtors to Western Digitals, but I've only had problems with IBMs. I'm
not buying anymore IBM/Hitachi drives, screw em'. Ironically the loaner
drive I'm using now is IBM, but hopefully this thing won't crap out
before I get another one ;) Are these things manufacturer in the back
room of Dollar General or what?? Sounds like I got a new addition to
"My Hate List" on the way >:) Anyways, after reloading WinXP and
all that mess, I'm back in action. I'll just image this drive once/if I
get the new one.
If
you've sent me any emails in the past few weeks, rom requests or
otherwise, your gonna have to send them again. Sorry, life's a bitch.
In other news, I added the "PayPal Donation Deal" above. I've received
a few donations here and there, most notably from "Michelle" whose like
a saint, but otherwise you guys are like leeches. That's what you are,
leechy ass monkeys. I don't think leechy is a word.....screw it, "Add
to dictionary" :) Alright, enough rambling. Just click the "PayPal
Donation Deal" logo above if your interested, otherwise you can kiss my
ass. More emulation sections are in the works, stayed tuned! lataz
SATURDAY,
MARCH 15th 2003
I
received a few emails from people that wanted me to show what roms were
new and when I added them. And, of course, in my on going battle to
keep you little ass monkeys happy, I added the new table above. I will
update it whenever I add a new rom to this page. Happy? Rom requests
are starting to dwindle down, most likely because I have so many
already. I've gotten some requests for roms, such as certain Dragon
Ball Z games, that are in all Japanese. I will not
be adding any Japanese games, so your out of luck. If I can find a near
100% English translation, I may add that, otherwise I'm not worrying
about it. I found out one of my SNES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roms
was in Japanese, so that's been swapped with the US counterpart. About
the only game I'm having trouble finding is the Street Fighter Alpha 2
SNES rom. I've come across 3 different roms, but none of the 3 actually
work. That's enough for now, lataz.
SUNDAY,
FEBRUARY 9th 2003
Hello
my little ass monkeys, how we all doing today? I finally got around to
adding the ROMs everyone has been requesting. Seems like the requests
are finally starting to slow down....probably because there aren't many
more games out there to request :) I've gotten a few requests for
Japanese games, translated games, or beta/hacked games, but I always
decline those. As my page says, I only offer 100% working, quality, US
games. No hacked ROMs, no beta bullshit, only the real deal here. I
think the biggest reason people download and play Nintendo games on
their PC is for the nostalgia, to relive their childhood memories of
munching Doritos and trying to beat King Koopa at 1am before school the
next morning. Life was much simpler then. I didn't have to
worry about credit card debt, college loans, or women problems. My
biggest concern then was what cheat code gave me 99 lives in Contra, or
what password jumped me straight to Mike Tyson. The pathetic thing is I
can still remember most of those cheat codes, yet I can't remember
simple physics formulas :) Selective memory I guess. Plus a lot of
Nintendo games were just plain fun, and still are. I still think Tecmo
Super Bowl is one of the best football games ever created. Which
reminds me, I did add one hacked ROM to my page. I
found a Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) ROM that was hacked with the latest 2002
Roster!! I about had an orgasm when I loaded that up. Madden can take
his PS2 graphics and shove it, I'm Tecmo all the way.
In other news, I removed the "Billboard Top 5" MP3
section I had. I figure no one really comes to this page to download
MP3s, unless your retarded. Just use Kazaa or something. Plus having an
MP3 section is just another bandwidth hog, bandwidth that is better
spent on emulation :) And yes, bandwidth is still a big problem. You
guys will inevitably get a 408 timeout error at some time or another on
my page. You ass monkeys bitch about my links sometimes not working, or
the page being busy, but then never click my AD banners or donate
anything through Paypal. I ain't a ROM charity worker here. I only need
like $120 to switch servers and quadruple my bandwidth allowance, but I
don't even come close to breaking even as is. It's also holding me back
from adding new emulation sections since I don't want to stretch my
traffic allowance even thinner. Oh well, worry bout' that later. I
changed the Poll on top of this page too. I like coming up with
questions and getting the opinions of people, even though my sole
demographic is 16-25 year old dudes....hmmm. Sounds like an opportunity
for an emulation/porn page :) Oh well, worry bout' that later too.
That's all for now, lataz.
TUESDAY,
OCTOBER 8th 2002
I
haven't updated this page in awhile, so I
thought it was about time. I added a bunch of roms and mp3s which I
always
describe at the top of this page. I am working on the Gameboy and
Genesis
sections right now, but I really don't think I can add them with my
current
bandwidth issues. If your a regular to this page, you've undoubtedly
hit the 408
(timeout) error that this page is constantly plagued with. If I get a
bit
more money generated, I can more than double my bandwidth allowance.
That'll
make it easier for you to get to the roms I already have, and give me
the leeway to add
the other emulation sections. You bastards still aren't checking out my
sponsors
much, but a handful have sent in donations. BIG PROPS to Shaun who sent
me a $10
donation for the page. Let's just say it would take about 83 banner
clicks to
get $10, so it's definitely appreciated. He's one visitor that makes up
for the
other 83 of you ass monkeys who download a bunch of roms and leave.
Maybe I'll
just start a porn site and have a bunch of pop-up windows ;) Once I get
the
money to switch my plan, I'll upload the Gameboy and Genesis sections.
From my
figures, if I had unlimited bandwidth, this page would be about 3 times
more
popular because no one would get turned away. Hopefully I can work
something
out. I also updated the Billboard MP3s section today and the top 5
songs are all
new, so you can check that out. I think that Kelly Clarkson from
"American
Idol" is just another cookie-cutter pop singer, but she's #1
so whatever. lataz
THURSDAY,
AUGUST 22nd 2002
My
site was down for a couple days last week
while I renewed my hosting contract and domain name. It's hard to
believe it's
been a year already. In that short year I've gotten nearly 50,000 hits
and have
quickly become one of the top emulation and personal sites. I
considered letting
the site expire, but I like having my @cpujunky.com email address
control. Plus
I get tons of interesting emails and pictures from you people, not to
mention
plenty of props about the site in general. I have some new sections in
the
works, but I dunno when I'll have it all finished. I removed the
pictures and
videos section, mainly because we don't take many pictures anymore. No
one cares
about snapping a Kodak moment when we're out. I might also take down
the MP3
section. I don't it's really worthwhile and just eats up my precious
bandwidth.
Just use Kazaa
for that
crap. I added about a million ROM requests, but I'll get them filled
eventually.
You morons need to check what ROMs I already have before you request
something.
Half the time the ROM(s) you ask for is already on the page. Other
times you ask
for a game, but have no idea what it's called. Life must be difficult
when your
that stupid. Keep clicking the damn AD banner and I might work more on
the page
:) lataz
MONDAY,
FEBRUARY 11th 2002
I
updated the usual things. The MP3
section, the ROM request board,
and the pic of the moment. I also updated the About Me and Pictures
section. I'd like to thank everyone for all the props you've been
giving me. I get emails
everyday from people telling me how much they like the site and all.
It's stuff
like that, that keeps me updating the page, so keep the props coming! I
try to
reply to everyone that emails me and add their requests when I get the
time. lataz.
SATURDAY,
JANUARY 26th 2002
Let's
see what's going on in my
life....hmmm. For starters I'm on this new diet called the "Atkins'
Diet". If you haven't heard of it, basically you have to eliminate
carbohydrates from your diet rather than count calories and fat. It
goes against
all traditional diets because your allowed to eat fatty foods like eggs
and
bacon, but you can't have things like bread or pasta because of the
carbs in it.
Sometimes I get really bad cravings for pop or spaghetti or whatever,
but I've
already lost a good amount of weight so I'm gonna stick to it. I put on
some
weight this past year so I need to fucking lose it. I thought I was fat
before
and now I'm even bigger, god damnitt. I'm like Ronald McDonalds' bitch,
ugh.
School is shitty as usual, but that's life. As far as the page goes, I
updated
the usual things. I added new pictures of the UT chicks and a new video
from out
New Years 2002 party. I also updated the MP3 section with the new, Top
5
Billboard songs. In other news, AOL filed an antitrust suit against
Microsoft
for their unfair business practices surrounding Internet Explorer.
muahahaha. I
hate AOL, but at least someone is fighting back against Microsoft's
forced IE
monopoly. Check out a good article on it here.
blah blah blah. Time for bed, lataz.
SUNDAY,
JANUARY 6th 2002
My
girlfriend read the last update and
wanted me to let everyone to know that we're doing fine now...as if you
all care
;) We had some rough times but now we're doing better than ever. We
have both
been enjoying our winter breaks from college and have been spending
plenty of
"quality" time together, not too mention plenty of party time!! New
Years was a blast and I plan on getting some new pictures and videos up
soon.
You'll get to see my monstrous beer bong!! Anyways....I am finally
getting to
everyone's ROM requests. I never thought I would receive so many
requests in
such a short period of time, especially for the NES. I have over 700
NES ROMs
and yet people still find games that I don't have ;) I decided to add
the above
table so you could see what ROMs have already been requested and what
their
status is. Be sure to check the table before you request any new ROMs,
just to
make sure it hasn't already been requested. I also removed the NES and
SNES
emulator binaries I had on the page. It's amazing how fast the
emulation
programmers update their software, so it's easier for the both of us if
you
download them from their respective homepages. Finally I updated the
MP3 section
with the latest Billboard information. If you curious, I use the stats
from this
page when updating the MP3 section. It's officially called
"The
Billboard Hot 100" and I just use the top 5. Lastly, I've removed the
pop-up ad banners I previously had on my page. They are just too damn
annoying,
especially when editing and previewing my pages. I'm spending a lot of
money on
bandwidth for the MP3s and SNES ROMs, so I'm looking for someway to
offset the
costs. The pop-ups would have helped, but they just drive me crazy. I
don't want
this page to turn into yet another aggravating, popup laden web site.
If you
find my page useful or interesting in someway, then please check out my
sponsor(s) every now and then. lataz
TUESDAY,
DECEMBER 18th 2001
These
last few weeks have been hell. I've
had my ups and downs with my girlfriend and school, I had finals last
week, and I've been doing a lot of freelance computer work on the side.
Thankfully everything is over now and
I can relax for awhile. Anyways, I have a lot more time to update the
page now, and I will for about a month since I'm on Christmas break.
Tis' the season. Look for upcoming Emulator sections and a lot more
ROMs. I'm actually looking into switching servers too and someone
recently suggested Powweb.com. They offer twice the amount of traffic I
get now and are actually a bit cheaper. Has anyone had any experience
with them, good or bad? If I can get switched over, I'll finally be
able to have a decent MP3 section along with the massive amount of
ROMs. It all sucks a lot of bandwidth ya know :) I've been getting a
lot of ROM requests from people, but everyone is being too damn vague.
Like for instance someone sent me an email saying "Can you get that one
game where people throw stuff at other people across the screen?" For
one, I don't know what system he is talking about and two, how the fuck
am I suppose to know what game that is? Ugh :) I'm gonna start working
more on the page so check back often. lataz
THURSDAY,
NOVEMBER 8th 2001
The
next update will be the biggest yet!
I've been busy with school and other things, but the next update I am
planning should be a big one. I plan on
fulfilling a few ROM requests and possibly adding a new emulation
section. Do you guys have any requests or ideas of what I should do? If
so email me with the contact link at the left. I was thinking either
Gameboy or Atari, but we'll see what I can dig up. I've been keeping
the other sections updated frequently, so this time I'll try to focus
more on the emulation side. As far as my Billboard MP3 section is
concerned, it's kind of in limbo right now. I started off with the "Top
20" MP3s, then went to the "Top 10", and now I'm down to the "Top 5".
It's all due to bandwidth restrictions. I have plenty of web space, but
with all my
ROMs and such, I'm eating up server bandwidth like crazy. If I still go
over the limit with the "Top 5", then I may try a "Daily MP3" or such
where I would post a new popular song everyday. What do you guys think?
It'd save me bandwidth and you would actually get a larger selection of
MP3s over time. Anyways, I'm off to bed now. It's 3am and I'm still up,
guess I better try out this "sleeping" thing. lataz.

TOTALED!
Oh so long ago, when I turned 16,
I was handed down a 1992 Dodge Dakota. It was old, even for its time,
and didn't have the features you'd expect in today's vehicles. But it
was mine. I drove that thing through hell. I got it stuck several times
in mud, once in a pile of snow, and scrapped the bottom numerous times
off-roading it. But it was mine. The sound system sucked ass and the
front passenger-side speaker was blown. But it was mine. That truck and
I lived together for many years, and went through many things. Someone
broke into it once, smashed the rear window, and stole my radar
detector. In the past year, I've probably put about $2000 into it, just
to keep it running and looking like new. New starter, new steering
rack, new paint job, new side mirror, all new brake system, new
muffler, new tires, etc. Unfortunately, last week that all came
crashing down. I was driving with my mom to the local mall to pick up
some bookshelves (which is why we had to take my truck in the first
place) when some fucker ran a stop sign and I plowed into him. I was
cruising down a back road about 50mph, roughly the speed limit, in
which a second road dead-ended into. They had a stop sign but our road
was through traffic. Well this kid, who was 18 years old and driving a
black 1997 Toyota
Camry, hesitated whether or not to pull out in front of me, and ended
up freezing in the middle of the fucking road. I slammed on my brakes,
turned to the left, but ended up rammed the left front of his car
head-on with mine. Needless to say, I was pissed as fuck. I had bought
the starter just the day before, and it was started maybe 3 damn times.
The previous week, I had purchased 4 new tires, and they still had the
little nubs on them. Super! All that went down the shitter. Anyways,
the pictures of the aftermath are in my pics section. Luckily we got a
decent settlement out of it, and I was handed down yet another vehicle,
a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan. Its definitely no truck, but its loaded
with power everything, cruise, and still sits high up like my truck
did. Plus with all that extra room in back, I could easily throw in a
mattress ;) I just have to work on de-soccer-momming it ;) lataz.
THURSDAY,
OCTOBER 4th 2001
Well
it seems CpuJunky.com has really taken off. To date, I have attracted
over 700 unique
visitors and I'm averaging about 17 more a day. Thanks to all those who
have checked out my page! CpuJunky.com is on track to be the most
successful page I've ever run, but unfortunately it's also costing me.
My server only allots me a certain amount a bandwidth a month, but more
importantly, a certain amount ever hour. With 20, 4MB+ mp3s on my site,
it only takes a few people downloading at the same time to reach my
peak. Some of you may have seen CpuJunky.com down or busy in the recent
week, that's because my page surpassed its limit. It blows ass, but
there's not much I can do about it. To upgrade my bandwidth costs
serious dough, and
that's money I just don't have. I never thought I'd have bandwidth
problems on a personal site, but here I am. For now I have cut back
from listing the Billboard's Top 20 MP3s to listing the Top 5.
Hopefully this will alleviate some of the problems. If it doesn't, I
may be forced to eliminate the section all together. If anyone knows of
a hosting service that allows
MP3s/Roms AND has a very lenient policy on bandwidth, let me know by
clicking the "contact me" link at the left. We'll see how things unfold
from here. lataz
WEDNESDAY,
AUGUST 16th 2001
Well
its here, CPUJUNKY.COM is online!
Its been awhile since I've had a page, but I thought it was about time
I started a new one. I just can't stand not having a web page for some
reason. It's like having an outlet for my thoughts or having the power
to be heard. My previous web site, GamingX.com, grew to be a fairly
popular
site over time and I hope the same comes of CpuJunky.com. I
ended
up falling behind on InterNIC payments with GamingX, and lost the
domain
to some asshole who used it for nothing more than a parked domain for
advertising.
Since then, GamingX.com has been owned by several different people all
of whom have been unable or unwilling to keep the site going. Even now
the GamingX domain is "for sale", although I haven't received any reply
to my offers. I guess they expect to make it big on selling my
original
domain ;) Well today its all changed, GamingX is no more and
CpuJunky.com
is here. Everything should be working, but if you find any missing
links,
html bugs or otherwise, please contact me by clicking the link at the
left.
Thanks. lataz
