Those are my
babies, a Hot Rodded American Fender Fat Strat "Texas Special" and a Gibson
acoustic. The Strat has a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Plus humbucker in
the bridge and two custom staggered Texas Special single-coils in the neck
and middle. Out of the half dozen or so guitars I've owned, its definitely
the best of them. The humbucker gives great sound with hard rock and good
sound with metal. The single coils are very clean and great for classic
rock or blues. Eventually I hope to get a Jackson SL-1 for a harder metal
sound, but I could never live without my Fender. The Gibson has a
nice black finish, grover lock nuts, and is much better than my Samick
and Yamaha acoustics ever were. I run the Fender through a Digitech RP300
Multi-effects pedal and from there to my Hercules Sound Rack into to my
computer. Previously I had a DOD VGS50 pedal, but I like the RP300 much
better (although I preferred the tuner on the VGS50). The Hercules Rack
is also very nice because it allows SP/DIF digital inputs and 1/4" cables
so I don't need any damn convertors.

With the help of multi-track software like Cool Edit Pro and drum machines
like Hotstepper, I've been recording music for a couple years now. I'm
no guitar master or anything, I just love to play guitar and have fun recording
music. I figured I'd put some of my music on this site for shits-n-giggles,
but I'll admit none of the music is really radio worthy. Hell I don't even
have lyrics in most of these songs, but never-the-less here we go.
All these songs are in MP3 format, so you'll need a program like
WinAMP
to play them. I'd also appreciate any thoughts you have on these songs,
just click the contact link at the left. If you hate them, feel free to
swear all you want. If you like them, thats cool too ;) And yeah, all this
music is my property bitches. Besides, I would question the mental health
of anyone wanting to steal these songs.
CpuJunky - Boom Da (feat.
Korn).mp3
This is probably the best song I've created, but that ain't saying
much. I basically took a couple vocal samples from Jonathan Davis of Korn
and overlapped it with a drum machine, me on guitar, and me on keyboard.
I think I did a good job with the beat and the guitar delay, but I should
have added another guitar track, oh well. The song is called "Boom Da"
because that's about the only lyrics in the song ;)
CpuJunky - Pissdrunk
(remix feat. Mike).mp3
One night a friend I were drunk (a rare occurrence of course), and
we somehow managed to turn on my computer and record some gibberish. You
can here that recording here.
A few weeks later I got bored so I decided to "remix" it. I just took 2
separate drum loops and overlapped it with some choice samples from the
original recording and added guitar. I was using my old Tech21 pedal and
a bunch of adapters, so the quality isn't that great. It was my attempt
to make a stupid and funny recording, musical . It was also my first real
attempt at taking samples from other recordings.
CpuJunky - 1.mp3
This was one of my earlier, and most successful, uses of a drum machine.
I think I did a good job with the beat, and the guitar overlapping (albeit
a bit off key in some parts). I think I used purely software effects in
this one, no pedals.
CpuJunky - 2.mp3
This song was actually created with pretty high fidelity because I
recorded it when I first got my VGS50 pedal and realized I could make metal
sounding music without the unwanted noise. I also attempted to play
a solo in this song and it turned out ok I suppose. You'll also notice
the crowd cheering in the background at certain points. If I can't play
in front of a real crowd, I might as well create one ;)
CpuJunky - 3.mp3
Now here is some serious distortion. Of course its not the good kind
of metal distortion, its the kind you get when your input levels are way
too high and everything distorts. I really like the beat I created in this
song, but I lost the file sometime later so this is the only remembrance
I have of it. Its like some kind of tribal drum beat on crack. I could
probably recreate it with enough time, but I don't have the patience to
create something I've already done.
CpuJunky - 4.mp3
I think this was the second song I ever recorded, so its not very high
quality. I was still using that damn Tech21 pedal and adapters, so its
rather noisy. I used a sample of some dude giving a speech or something,
and just looped it. I also used a drum loop that is very popular and was
used in a Led Zeppelin song. A friend and I decided this should be called
the Gnome Song because you just picture a bunch of Gnomes dancing in a
circle to this ;)
