| Soviet Single Playing:
Below are
strategies, tips, and more when playing single player games as the Soviets.
When playing the computer, you have to remember that the computer is
stupid. Your not facing "Data" from Star Trek, but rather a simple program
that starts with only a certain amount of units and waits until certain
times to attack. The computer has a tendency to constantly attack with
only one or a few foot soldiers at a time. This doesn't last long in Multiplayer
games and it doesn't last long here either. Just build a few Flame Towers
to kill the hordes of troops that come your way. When playing a Skirmish
or a later Single player game, the computer will attack with a number of
tanks too. I've found that a few Tesla Coils will provide enough defense
for any computer attack. If this were a Multiplayer game, the enemy
may A-Bomb your Power Plants and then attack with tanks, but again, realize
this is the computer. They just run right at the Tesla Coils one after
another in a kamikaze type fashion. Needless to say, if you have enough
Tesla Coils to defend your base, you will have no problem keeping the computer
from destroying anything of use. When playing a Skirmish mission that contains
water, as far as I know, the computer never attacks from sea. I hope a
future patch will fix this problem. Also know that when facing the Crusiers
in Single player missions, they cannot attack your Submarines. In Multiplayer
games, the enemy Crusiers can force fire next to your subs which will usually
destroy them, but that is not the case here. Remember to read the mission
goals carefully and save often! All too often I've destroyed something
I wasn't suppose to and had to restart the level since I didn't save early
enough. Don't make that mistake.
I have found that by trial and error, you can beat nearly every Soviet mission. If there is one mission you just can't beatcheck out the Red Alert F.A.Q. |
